Dreaming of a better life. Former child soldiers Steven (16) and Janet (15) investigate as radio reporters in Sierra Leone why all Africans want to emigrate. Steven is convinced that he can make a life for himself in his home country of Sierra Leone while Janet only believes in a future in America or Europe.
The actors appearing in the film are former child soldiers from Sierra Leone. Alice Schmid wrote the script in collaboration with them and they also edited the film together. Today, they're making films themselves for Radio Talking Drum.
